Aromatherapy is the practice of using volatile plant oils, including
essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being.
Essential oils which are the pure "essence" of a plant,
have been found to provide both psychological and physical benefits
when used correctly and safely.
The Benefit of an "Aroma"
Essential oils that are inhaled into the lungs are believed to
offer both psychological and physical benefits; not only does the
aroma of the natural essential oil stimulate the brain to trigger
a reaction, but the natural constituents (naturally occurring chemicals)
of the essential oil are drawn into the lungs and can also supply
physical benefit. If not done correctly and safely, however, the
use of essential oils can also have severe consequences.
The Benefit of Physical Application
Oils that are applied to the skin are believed to be absorbed
into the bloodstream. The components of the various oils are believed
to aid in a variety of health, beauty and hygiene conditions. Since
essential oils are so powerful and concentrated, they should never
be applied to the skin in their undiluted form. To apply essential
oils to the skin, "carrier oils" which are pure vegetable
oils are used to dilute the essential oils and "carry"
them to the skin. Common carrier oils include sweet almond oil,
apricot kernel oil and grapeseed oil.
Body Treatments
Available treatments at club nirvana are body scrub, body wrap
and body mask
Body treatments are essentially facials for the whole body. The
most popular body treatment is a salt glow or body scrub, an exfoliating
treatment where the therapist rubs off the outermost layer of dead
skin cells. This will leave your skin feeling velvety soft.
Body Scrub
Key to beautiful skin is through exfoliation / Scrub or removal
of dead skin cells. This refinement of the epidermis, not only makes
the skin feel smoother; but actually accelerates the growth of new
cells. The new cells are better at absorbing moisture applied to
the surface and drawing moisture from the reserves deep within the
skin, this helps maintain the moisture balance needed for healthy,
glowing skin. Two varieties are available at Club Nirvana
a. Tropical Smootie – (Coffee based) – Coffee beans
are overly abrasive od removing dry skin and caffeine in coffee
can temporally give the skin a toned appearance and quell minor
sin irritation.
b. Apple Crisp - - A mixture of apple and cucumber for a luxurious
and soothing exfoliate.
Body Wrap
Starts with a steam bath and one lays on his stomach, the massage
therapist rubs a mixture of sea salt, honey or Pumpkin / orange
and aromatic essential oils into the skin. Once the whole body is
gently massage which takes maybe ten or fifteen minutes, she drapes
a plastic and linen sheet over you and goes away for about 20 minutes
while you rest. When she returns you shower it all off without soap,
leaving a nice coating of oil.
Papaya Body Mask
A wrap of fresh papaya exfoliates well while your skin absorbs
the minerals and enzymes from this exotic fruit. This refreshing
treatment leaves the skin moisturized, toned and helps promote the
formation of elastin and collagen for firmer, healthier skin. It's
an invigorating treatment, and it's a good idea to get your scrub
before your massage if you're having both.
Ayurvedic Massage
A special massage with a choice of Ayurvedic oils for back pain,
spinal problems etc.
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a classic approach to massage. The strokes are
continuous and fast at times. Pressure is moderate. Strokes are
elongated and also include kneading and cupping motions.
When you climb on the table for a traditional feel-good rubdown,
the technique is most likely to be Swedish massage. This is the
primary technique taught in massage schools and is the most popular
form of bodywork practiced in the West. Swedish massage employs
soft strokes on the more delicate and bony structures of the body,
such as the face, hands and feet, and stronger strokes over thickly
muscled areas that retain stress, such as the neck and shoulders.
The careful attention to the amount of pressure makes Swedish massage
great for relaxation.
Shiatsu massage
Shiatsu is a traditional hands-on Japanese healing therapy. It
can help in a wide range of conditions - from specific injuries
to more general symptoms of poor health. Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing
experience and regular Shiatsu sessions help to prevent the build
up of stress in our daily lives.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a science which deals with the principle that there
are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of
the glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes
properly can help many health problems in a natural way, a type
of preventative maintenance. Reflexology is a serious advance in
the health field and should not be confused with massage.
